Breaking Up Is Hard To Do

Let’s face it, heartbreak is a part of life, if not a way of life for some. Whether you’ve had your heart broken once, or a million times, it has happened to you, and we all know how horrible it can make you feel. You can’t eat, you can’t sleep, NOTHING makes you happy. The one person you want to be with is the one who kicked you to the curb. So stop pining over someone who isn’t there anymore, because you deserve someone who is going to love you, and want to be with you.

Distance. This is key in order to get over someone. If you don’t distance yourself from them physically, then you will NEVER get over them. If it takes switching gyms and changing your morning coffee routine to stay away from then, then I say do it because if you are constantly seeing this person, then your feelings for them are going to keep on coming back time and time again. The less you see them, the less you’re going to think about them.

Not only do you need to be away from that person, but you also need to be away from their stuff. Yes, their stuff needs to go. If you’re nice, then you can give it back to them, but if you’re feeling a little anger, then sure go ahead and throw it in the trash. However you do it, just do it! Believe me, you will feel a weight lifted off your shoulders. By getting rid of their personal belongings it is symbolizing letting go of the relationship. You are showing him/her that you are over it and over them. Nothing will feel more powerful.

Now that you’re not seeing them, or staring at their stuff in your apartment, one more step needs to be taken. We are all guilty of the post-break-up phone calls, or nowadays texts. Sure make whatever excuse you want for contacting them, but lets face it, you’re just trying to hold on to something that just isn’t there anymore. They don’t want to talk to you, if they did then they wouldn’t have broken up with you in the first place. There is nothing more annoying, and creepy than 15 missed phone calls from your ex. So hang up!

So you’ve finally started moving on, or at least you act like it. Now the ultimate way to get over someone is to find someone new. Some might call it a rebound, but whatever you call it, I call it a solution. Sure you may be only dating this person to get over your ex, but whatever works, I say do it. They say the best way to get over someone, is to get under someone else. So find someone new to like, someone new to fall asleep next to, someone else’s junk to throw in your closet. You’ll be saying (insert ex’s name here) who in no time at all.

So just remember these three words. Let It Go. Because they have.
